Campaign wins the support of Forest Gate women
On 1st April, Trust member Loraine Leeson presented the campaign’s case for restoring the pub to its former glory (and more) to a packed AGM of the Forest Gate Women’s Institute.
She showed photos of the building in its current state and some images from better times, conveying some of the reasons why English Heritage have designated it an important historical building with Grade ll listing.
Many WI members are already behind the campaign, though Ann Howarth, also on our board of trustees, was able to gather the details of more than thirty additional individuals willing to lend their support and help with campaign activities.
We’d like to thank the WI for a warm and enthusiastic welcome – we look forward to a fruitful relationship.
