On Monday 10th December, a group from the campaign visited The Spotted Dog, accompanied by Lyn Brown MP, who is a determined campaigner on our behalf.

The building is in a surprisingly good state, though, of course, it is empty, dark and, honestly, quite a sad sight. The visit did, however, serve as a reminder of how the pub used to be and fired our collective imagination. Could we really rescue this place? You know we could!

Ben Hull, the Heritage Planning Officer, arranged the visit with the liquidator, who was kind enough to show us around the site. Several professionals representing the liquidators were also on the visit. Their aim, of course, was to aid the liquidator in devising a project to maximise any return for the creditors.  They are working on an application to gain planning for a residential development on the site.
